It is often difficult to discern the dangers to health and advantages of drinking alcohol. This is due to the fact that researches don't know much about the risks or benefits of moderate consumption of alcohol in healthy adults. Many studies of lifestyle (e.g., diet, exercise, caffeine and alcohol) relies on the honest report of patients over many years. These studies could suggest that two aspects could be connected to one another, but not necessarily that one causes the other. It is possible that alcohol could have a positive effect on health may mean that people with good health are more likely to participate in activities with friends and drink moderate amounts of alcohol. For many the benefits may not outweigh the risk and abstaining from drinking alcohol is the best choice.
